TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR WORK

I was born in Siberia where I’ve spent 18 years. My parents are adventurers who worked there in petrol extraction. During long 6-months winters with -40°C, I’ve spent a lot of time with my first computer Vector C. After studying at Moscow State University for applied mathematics and cybernetics and two successful job experiences, I moved to Paris. With 10 years of experience in technical and human development, here I am in Belgrade, Serbia, looking for a new challenge!

HOW DID U END UP IN BELGRADE?

I have settled here for four years now, my wife being posted at the French Embassy.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WORKING FROM BELGRADE?

I’ve started working in Nova Iskra Workspace from early 2020. The best part of my experience is the feel of being part of a community.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES IN BELGRADE?

Ada Ciganlija – for water sports; Beton Hala / Savski kej – because of the good atmosphere and nice restaurants; Clay court – for tennis; French Embassy – for the beautiful garden and swimming pool.

WHAT IS THE PERFECT WEEKEND IN BELGRADE FOR YOU LOOKS LIKE?

Some sports activities with the whole family: horseback or bike riding, water skiing or badminton; Lunch at some of the water rafts (splav) or spending time with friends in a park or garden.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CULTURAL CONTRAST YOU NOTICED WHEN YOU MOVED HERE

The fact that the favourite Serbian vegetable is probably pork 🙂

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND BELGRADE AS THE PLACE TO WORK FROM?

Yes, except during the winter. Because Belgrade is really welcoming. The weather, the food and, of course, the people. Hospitality is simply part of the Balkan culture.
