SUMMARY:Belgradegets.digital meetup #7
DESCRIPTION:Speculative Futures: AI and Design \n  \nWhat is the role of artificial intelligence\, augmentative reality\, and speculative design in the process of reimagining the future? How can we inspire people to rethink the use of everyday objects and reduce waste by giving them a renewed purpose? How can we strengthen our ability to influence the future? \n  \nThose are just some of the questions for our guest for the seventh in a row at the BGGD Meetup\, Simone Rebaudengo\, an Italian designer who has been living and working in Belgrade for some time now. He is one of the co-founders of oio.studio where he and his colleagues focus on exploring the implications of living and interacting with networked\, smart\, and autonomous systems. \n  \nSimone works in the realm between art and industry\, with clients and big companies such as: IKEA\, Google\, FROG\, and the Museum of the Future\, creating so-called actual products while designing fictitious and speculative objects that are displayed in galleries and museums. His primary focus is on the near future\, employing objects and prototypes to spark debate and stimulate human creativity. \n  \nJoin us at the event to learn more about the amazing projects he is involved in as well as his perspective on the importance of design in determining our near future.  \n  \nGuest speaker: \nSimone Rebaudengo is co-founder and creative director  at oio studio\, a creative company on a quest to turn emerging technologies into an approachable\, everyday\, and sustainable reality for humans and beyond. Previously\, he designed future scenarios and products for The Museum of the Future in Dubai\, founded a design fiction practice called Automato.farm\, and was lead designer at BMW Designworks and Frog. His work focuses on building experiential visions of the future and exploring the implications of living and interacting with networked\, smart\, and not-so-human things. His projects have been awarded by the Red Dot Design Award\, Core77\, and Interaction Awards and exhibited in galleries and museums such as the Vitra Design Museum\, the Triennial Museum in Milan\, and MAK Vienna. \n  \n———– \nBelgradegets.digital meetup is a physical meeting point for a community of international professionals and digital nomads living and working in and from Belgrade. It is a perfect place to meet new people\, get actively involved in the local ecosystem\, and create stronger connections with the community of innovators\, entrepreneurs\, and digital workers from Serbia and around the world. \n  \nBelgradegets.digital  provides relevant and important information about the local ecosystem\, visa and work permit procedures\, but also about the nightlife\, culture\, and local uniqueness that could make a life for international professionals and digital nomads in Belgrade more easy and fun. \n  \nCheck out the atmosphere from the previous events! SUMMARY:Havana - Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:The Belgrade Philharmonic’s concert season “On the Right Track” is taking the audience on a promenade through different parts of the world. The orchestra is roving around the world through 25 concerts\, accompanied by the best international soloists and conductors\, with each concert carrying the name of a city. Each concert is taking place in Kolarac Conmcert Hall. \n\nThe sounds of Cuban music inspired George Gershwin to write his famous Cuban Overture and a few decades later gave Efrain Oscher the motivation for the last movement of his Danzas Latinas. This work was specially written for trumpet player Pacho Flores\, who will be joining the Belgrade Philharmonic with the young conductor Felix Mildenberger\, already known to our audience. In the second part\, we listen to music from Stravinsky’s ballet The Firebird\, which the composer himself conducted during his historic visit to Havana in 1946.

SUMMARY:2023 FEST
DESCRIPTION:The Belgrade cinema scene ramps up several notches come late February. This is when the curtains rise\, and the city swans into the motion picture capital of the world.\nEvery year\, Belgrade hosts its marquee International Film Festival (FEST for short)\, the biggest and most selective movie festival in this part of Europe. The FEST sets itself apart by featuring only the most intriguing\, groundbreaking\, and dust-raising films released in the past twelve months. And a couple of oldies\, as well.\nThis winter\, the festival is into its 51st edition and will be screening more than twice as many movies between now and March 5th. It would be impractical to list them all\, so here are some of the most anticipated pictures coming over to cinemas around Belgrade. \nFind our movie recommendation at the link.

SUMMARY:The Chinese Lantern Festival
DESCRIPTION:Like every year\, the most striking feature of the fest is the lantern installations lined alongside the river bank near the Galerija shopping mall at the Sava promenade. They light up every nightfall at 5 pm in the likenesses of real-world flora and fauna\, plus a few recognizable creatures from the Chinese cultural lore like the legendary lung dragon. There’s a fire fountain hovering around\, too. \nThe scenic\, slightly extravagant light parade is signed by the famous lantern producer and operator Zigong Haitian\, coming straight from the lantern capital of the world. They sure know how to light them up – the lanterns look as great in photos as they are arresting in person. \nOh\, and they shine exquisitely against the Sava River so that you can go a little crazy with your photos on that front\, as well. \n
